…Eight matches to unravel at Retrieve Hard Court
Kaieteur Sports- Tonight, the 11th annual Linden Greatest in the Streets futsal championship gets underway with eight games set to be played this evening at the Retrieve Hard Court, in Linden.
The initial round-robin matches will be played over the next playing dates that set the stage for the knockout stages of the tournament.

Banks DIH’s Linden Supervisor, Omari Gordon (3rd L) and organiser, Kellon Josiah, flanked by team members at the launch of the event at Grand Taste Guinness Fish Shop in Amelia’s Ward.
Tournament organiser, Kellon Josiah, noted that the first game will feature Bombers and Silver Bullets at 7:00 pm.
The second match at 7:30 pm is between High Rollers and Excuse The Rush, at 8:00 pm YMCA collide with DC Ballers, Young Gunners clash with Turf President at 8:30 pm, Swag oppose Coomacka United at 900pm, Pro Ballers versus Realist Ballers at 9:30 pm, Assasa Ballers take on Hard Ball Management at 10:00 pm and the final game is Spaniards against LA Ballers at 10:30 pm.
When the tournament was launched at the Golden Taste Guinness Fish Shop last Wednesday, the Banks DIH’s Linden Branch Supervisor Mr. Omari Gordon, reported that: “Banks DIH will continue to give back to the Linden community for its unwavering support to the company. A total of 16 teams will be competing for the grand prize of $500,000. Last year’s tournament was a success, so we are looking to do it bigger and better this year. Second place prize money will get $400,000, third $300,000 and the fourth place gets $250,000.”
He was optimistic that the tournament will once again see high-class action and he mentioned that while the players will not have lots to play for fans can participate in the Guinness promotions every night and win prizes
Day two is slated for Thursday with eight more matches in the round-robin aspect of the competition.
In Group A are Pro Ballers, Silver Bullets, Realist Ballers and Bombers, Group B has Assasa Balkers Hard Ball Management, YMCA and DC Ballers, Group C is Turf President, Swag, Young Gunners and Coomacka United and Group D comprises LA Ballers, Spaniards, Excuse The Rush and High Rollers.
