Kaieteur News- A family is in grief after a two-year-old boy, who they reported missing on Thursday, was found dead in a septic tank in their yard at Lot 359 Tabatinga, Lethem.
The dead child has been identified as Delvorron Forde, also known as ‘Suno’. The toddler’s body was discovered by his mother, 34-year-old Naomi Forde, at about 01:22h on Friday. During an interview with Kaieteur News, the mother of three related that her son was last seen playing in the yard by a stand. Forde stated that at the time, she doing laundry while her son was playing.
She mentioned that at about 18:00h, she called him to have a bath, but he never responded. Forde said, “I start calling him ‘Suno, Suno’, I keep on searching and then I end up calling his father, which he was at work at the moment. I called and said, ‘Come home, I don’t know where this lil boy gone,’ and the father said, ‘Okay, I am coming.”
Afterwards, a search was launched by family members, neighbours, and friends to find the toddler. However, despite their efforts, they were unable to locate the child on Thursday. As the search extended into the early hours of Friday morning, the mother made the heartbreaking discovery that her son was in the septic tank located in her backyard. Forde explained that the septic tank had to be broken in order to retrieve the child’s body. She also mentioned that she has no idea how he ended up inside.
Further, the distraught mother, describing her son, said he was “a quiet boy, he loves to play, he don’t like walking, he always running, he make joke and so. He is a lovely child.” She stated that after the incident she has not slept, and it has affected her badly.
