Kaieteur News- Residents of De William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD), discovered the body of man on Saturday laying face-down in a trench near “Archie Duck Corner”.
“If anybody missing family member, y’all come see wa going on hay,” one of the residents said in a Facebook live.
The discovery was made Saturday morning. The dead man is believed to be in his late 40s and might be of mixed race.
The dead man was clad in a pair of blue pants with greenish yellowish stripe at both sides and was already decomposing.
According to residents, there was no sign of a body there on Friday.
Some are speculating that the remains ended up there between Friday evening and Saturday morning.
Police were called and the body was subsequently transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Up to press time, police were yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
