Armed bandits rob, assault shop owner, staff at Oku Backdam
Kaieteur News- Three armed bandits, on Wednesday, robbed a small variety shop at Oku Backdam, Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Region Seven.

A video circulating on Facebook displayed the incident which occurred around 19:00hrs. In the footage, the three suspects can be seen ordering two women into the shop at gunpoint. The bandits were filmed taking several items from the store before one of them began firing multiple shots inside the shop.
As the robbery unfolded, one of the bandits grabbed one of the women by the hand while threatening her with the gun. In a plea for mercy, she cried out, “Don’t chuck meh, buddy, oh gawd, don’t chuck me.”
Attempts to contact the Commander in charge of Region 7 for further information proved unsuccessful.
