Kaieteur News- A 24-year-old motorcyclist reportedly died on Monday in an accident along the Marudi trail, Region Nine mere hours after dropping off his girlfriend at her camp.
Police have identified him as Devon Williams of Aishalton Village, Deep South Rupununi, Region Nine. He was last seen dropping off his girlfriend reportedly at her camp around 01:00hrs. From there he left to go pick-up his step-son but he never made it there.
Hours later (04:00hrs.) he was found badly injured along the trail. Reports are that he might have lost control of his bike and fell onto the road sometime between 01:00 and 04:00hrs.
He was taken to the Aishalton District hospital, where he was treated for severe head and body injuries. The severity of his injuries led doctors to transfer to the Lethem Hospital.
Williams arrived there around 13:30hrs. and died moments later while receiving treatment.
Investigations are ongoing.
