Kaieteur Sports – The quarter-final stage of the highly anticipated 2024 Petra/Milo Schools Under-18 Football Championship is set to unfold today at the Ministry of Education ground. Four thrilling matchups are on the docket, promising an exciting display of talents among the top schools in the nation.

Kicking off the proceedings is a showdown between frontrunners Chase’s Academic Foundation and Bartica Secondary with kickoff scheduled for 13:00hrs. Following that, fans can expect an intense clash between East Ruimveldt Secondary and President’s College.

The day’s excitement continues with Ann’s Grove Secondary taking on the undefeated Waramauri Primary Top, setting the stage for a battle of skill and strategy. The quarter-final lineup concludes with Dolphin Secondary facing off against West Ruimveldt Secondary.

Looking ahead, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, Troy Mendonca, has announced that the semi-finals will take place on Thursday, culminating in the eagerly awaited final showdown on Sunday (April 28).

In the quest for glory, teams are not only competing for victory on the field but also for the chance to secure a top prize of $300,000 towards a school project. Second, third, and fourth place finishers will also receive significant sums of $200,000, $150,000, and $75,000 respectively which will go towards projects for their respective schools.

Sponsored by Nestle MILO and sanctioned by the Ministry of Education with approval from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), the tournament enjoys support from various entities including the Ministry of Sport, Ministry of Local Government, Yellow Steel Inc, and MVP Sports.
