Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Tourism Authority will join with the Klein/Pouderoyen NDC in Region Three to celebrate Easter Activities from March 30 to April 1, at another Westside Golf Course in Vreed-en-hoop.
“Region Three is now one of the fastest growing economic regions (second largest population in Guyana) and as a result, we feel that promotion of Tourism related activities are necessary for both the residents and tourists,” said GTA Director Kamrul Baksh.
“We want people to experience all of what Guyana (and each region) has to offer so these three days will help us to showcase some of the Culture, activities, food and music available just outside of Georgetown. ”
The packed three day event will feature a Car & Bike Show with music fest on Saturday; Family Fun Day with Duck Curry and King of the Grill Barbecue competition on Sunday; and Family Picnic/Easter Egg Hunt/Kite Flying competition on Easter Monday.
The Klein/Pouderoyen NDC is collaborating with Nexgen Global Marketing Promotions to ensure that the events are successful and there will be hundreds of prizes available to be won over the massive weekend.
Chairman of the NDC, Umesh Balram, said, “We are proud that Westside now has a golf course and a location that residents and visitors can use for sports and other recreational activities without having to leave Region Three. This is only the first of many activities that we plan to host at the Westside Golf Course in 2024.”
Vice Chairman of Region Three Omesh Stayanand also weighed in on the great importance of having a golf course on the West Coast and emphasized on the amount of Tourism revenues golf brings to an area, “With our climate and the growing investments by the government and private sector in Region Three, golf is poised to become a main attraction for us and we expect much more development of hotels and other courses to fulfill the need.”
Persons wishing to participate in the Easter activities or become a vendor should visit the Klein/Pouderoyen NDC office or call 645 0944.
