Shinessa’s journey into the world of cakes commenced in 2016, but it was in 2018 that she wholeheartedly launched Mimi’s Cupcakes and Cakes, pouring her passion and dedication into this flavorful venture.
But what ignited the spark? A cake decorating class initially meant for future family celebrations and the request of a friend that turned the wheels of entrepreneurship.

For Shinessa, running a business has been a lesson in commitment and courage.
“It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone,” she shares. Amidst the occasional anxieties, the journey has been remarkably rewarding, marked by the joyous smiles her treats bring to the faces of her customers.

Shinessa Thompson, a passionate cook and baker, juggles her role as an Office Administrator by day and a cake decorator by night.
Her journey started with her mom teaching her the art of cooking and baking, fostering a lifelong love for creating culinary wonders.
