Kaieteur Sports – Opening batsman and former Guyana youth player Ricardo Peters fashioned a brilliant 126 retired out for Redemption against Brampton Baazs in the continuation of the 2023 Etobicoke District Cricket League 40-overs competition.
Playing at Keele Top in North York, recently, the Essequibian Peters belted 11 sixes and four fours from 111 balls to help team set up a massive 354-2 from the 40-overs. Brampton Baazs, in response, only managed 111 all out in the 30th over, losing by a gigantic 243-run margin.
The elegant Peters also got solid support from Yakub Ahmed who cracked an enterprising 102 which including nine sixes and five fours. They two featured in an entertaining 217-run opening stand while Kyobe Arthur stroked 45 not out and an unbeaten 30 from Kerry Holness.
When Brampton Baazs batted, only skipper Pradeep Hayer with 24 as pacer Adams Fritz grabbed 3-9 from four probing overs and former Trinidad and Tobago fast-bowler Atiba Alert with three wickets as well but conceded 12 runs from seven stingy overs.
The action is set to continue Sunday with a series of matches in this 14-team round-robin tournament that is expected to run until mid-September.
