GLDA staff member vents frustrations over missing employment contract

Dear Editor,

Please permit me to vent my frustrations with the way I am being treated currently as it pertains to my job contract.

I am currently working for the Guyana Livestock Development Authority where I am awaiting my job contract for several months now. I have been trying to get my contract, but to date not a single word yet from the agency.

I am currently out of my region working, and it is very hard for me to sustain myself for several months without a contract which is affecting my salary and all other benefits. I really do hope the Minister of Agriculture and the President H.E Dr. Irfaan Ali can read this letter since I am not the only one in this agency currently facing this issue.

There are other staffs in several regions who are facing the same set back but are afraid to speak out due to fear of victimization or losing their job. I really do hope this agency can understand the frustrations I am facing since not having a job contract has been stalling me up from doing business or accessing finance to maintain my day-to-day activities and social life. I do hope good sense prevails.
