Kaieteur News – P&P Insurance Brokers Limited on Thursday made its annual Christmas donations to 12 organisations.
The recipients are: Bless the Children Home, Canaan Children Home, Ptolemy Reid Rehab Centre, Uncle Eddie’s Home, Friends of the Archer’s Home, The Dharam Shala, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Cheshire Homes Guyana, Hauraruni Girls Home, Tina Insanally Foundation, Bal Nivas Shelter and the Joshua House Children Centre.
For the past 16 years, the Insurance Company has provided financial support to several organisations involved in humanitarian work.
Executive Director of P&P, Mr. Vikash Panday said 16 years ago when the idea was conceptualised, the Company donated $1M to 10 organisations with each receiving $100,000.
Since its inception, the number of organisations has increased from 10 to 12 with each receiving $125,000 representing a donation of $1,500,000 to support their work.
However, this year, each organisation benefitted from $150,000 taking the total sum gifted to $1,800,000.
In addition to the increase in the value of the donations, P&P made donations of personal hygiene items to each organisation.
Further, the staff of P&P with their own funds, they made donations of toys to each orphanage, a gesture pleasing to Mr. Panday.
Meanwhile, the P&P Executive Director commended the organisations for their humanitarian work and wished them well for the Christmas season and beyond. In response, representatives of the organisations thanked Mr. Panday and his staff for their continued support while wishing them the best for the season.
