Kaieteur News – Nine beautiful young women will be vying for the coveted Miss Jamazone title 2022 as organiser, Hits and Jams, returns the “ultimate summer festival” to Guyana after a several year hiatus. A press release from the company said that the delegates will be vying for a motorcar and cash prizes with the first event slated to be launched at the Kingston beach front.
The company said that Jamzone will be returning July 31 with its event commencing at the Kingston beach front, with a day filled with beach games, bikinis, frolic, performances from local artistes, and the winner of the Jamzone song competition and over three million dollars in cash and prizes to be won.
Ms. Jamzone delegates will showcase their ‘fantasy swimwear’ at the daytime event and later move to the National Cultural Centre where activities there will comprise the national costume, talent costume and swimwear.
The delegates of the pageant were selected from a bevy of young women. They are Delegate #1 – Anngelila Corbin sponsored by Xtra Ginger Ale, Delegate #2 – Brianca Lester – sponsored by Hard Rock Café, Delegate #3 – Jasmaine Assanah – sponsored by Outside Lounge, Delegate #4 – Jade Mercurius sponsored by Star Party Rentals, Delegate #5 – Shaniya Decosta sponsored by AJM Investments, Delegate #6 – Amel Griffith sponsored by Fireside Suites, Delegate #7 – Phelicia Adams sponsored by ARANCO, Delegate #8 – Omaiah Hall sponsored by Triple D Trucking and Delegate #9 – Jada Jones sponsored by Jacobs Jewellery.
This year’s contestants will focus heavily on tourism with each delegate representing a township. The aim of the pageant is to create opportunities for tourism, promote societal connections and encourage self confidence among young women.
According to the release, the delegates are currently being trained in every area including modelling, public speaking and diet and fitness.
While the queen will walk away with a motorcar, the first and second runners-up will receive $500,000 and $250,000 respectively.
Early bird tickets for the Jamzone Beach day cost $2000 and are now available at HJ Box Office, That Look Boutique, StoveTop Restaurant, Fireside Grill N Chill, Exclusive Styles, Shop and Save and White Castle Fish Shop.
