Kaieteur News – As was earlier reported, the education sector this year was allocated the sum of $6.6 billion to facilitate the construction, rehabilitation, extension, and maintenance of educational facilities across the country.
Preparing to use a portion of that money, the Ministry of Education is looking to spend some $56 million to extend the Stella Maris Primary School. The project was opened on Thursday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) office which saw a total of 17 contractors placing bids for the project.
Bids were also opened for the construction of an annex building at The Bishops’ High School, that project is pegged at $108 million, and for rehabilitative works at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Supply, delivery, installation and testing of ICT equipment and furniture for classrooms and desktop computers – MISU AND National Library – Lot1: computer accessories, Lot2: desktop computers.
Supply and delivery of cooked meals for the resident students at CPCE Lot1: breakfast, Lot2: lunch, Lot3: dinner.
Supply and delivery of dietary supplies- President’s College Lot1: perishables, Lot2: fresh goods and Lot3: dry goods.
Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation
Procurement of Microsoft licenses
Procurement of works in order to pave the waiting area of the Mental Health Ward
Procurement of retrofitting works at the Main Outpatient Department
Procurement of works in order to renovate the Psychiatric Department
Procurement of retrofitting works at the Industry Health Centre

Ministry of Housing and Water
Rehabilitation of eastern wall at the Ministry’s main housing building
Ministry of Agriculture, National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA)
Mechanical repairs to NDIA no.147 caterpillar D6T hydraulic bulldozer located in MMA Region Five.
