Kaieteur News – A man identified as Robert Glen had both of his hands fractured on Friday by four bandits who pounced on him at the Stabroek Market area to steal his iPhone.
Glen told Kaieteur News that he was attacked around 17:00hrs while waiting to catch a minibus. He recalled being attacked so quickly and beaten so severely that he did not get a chance to see who his four assailants were.
The men reportedly crept up on him from behind and launched their attack, relieving him of his cell phone in the process. After they escaped, the badly beaten Glen had to be assisted to get to the police to make a report.
He later visited the hospital where he was treated for his injuries, and according to Glen, doctors were able to ascertain that his hands are fractured.
Investigations are ongoing by police.
