Kaieteur News – The electric motorcyclist who was on Tuesday crushed to death by a 40-feet container truck has been identified as 71-year-old Carlon Windsor Barrett of Lot 32, Victoria
Avenue, Eccles East Bank Demerara (EBD).Barrett was killed by the truck around 14:30Hrs at a roundabout located in front of Muneshwers on Water Street, Georgetown. The driver who is in police custody has told traffic investigators that he had put on his right side trafficator to indicate that he was turning in a westerly direction.
He continued that while making the turn “he felt the truck’s right side trailer wheel ran over something”.The truck driver said that he stopped the vehicle right away and exited only to find that the wheel was on top of the electric
motorcycle and a man’s body. Kaieteur News had reported on Thursday that eyewitnesses were alerted of the fatal accident after they heard a loud popping sound.
