Kaieteur News – A father recalled his son behaving in a disorderly manner just minutes before he found him chopped to death in front of their home located at Five Miles, Arakaka, North West District, Region 1.
Richard Thomas, 28, was brutally slain at around 01:30Hrs on Friday allegedly by his drinking buddy. According to police, Thomas, was reportedly seen drinking banks beers with the suspect and a female relative on Thursday evening at a shop located at Four Miles, Arakaka.
At around midnight Thomas pulled his relative to go home but she ran away from him and he was accompanied to his house by the suspect.
Upon their arrival, an argument ensued between them. Thomas’ father told investigators that he was awoken by his son behaving in a disorderly manner. He continued that he also heard things breaking up outside for about 15 minutes.
After a brief silence, the man reportedly ventured outside to investigate and saw his son Thomas, lying motionless with multiple chops to the head, body and hands.
He reported the matter to the Arakaka Police Station and ranks arrived shortly after to examine the crime scene and remove Thomas’ body. It was further examined by a medex at the Arakaka Health Center and then sent to the Port Kaituma Hospital Morgue.
