DEAR EDITOR,
No citizen of Guyana with any knowledge of the politics of our country spanning the last sixty years would believe anything other than ‘ Should the PPP secure a majority of the votes come election day, the power behind Ali will be Jadgeo’. Not only will he be the driving force behind Ali but this youngman also lacks the experience necessary to effectively manage the country, and like most, if not all of the party officials, he has come under the influence of the Supreme Leader Bharrat Jadgeo. A PPP administration with a rubber stamp President such as Ramotar will unquestionably be controlled by this ultra ambitious person. It is said ‘ Some Enter Politics for what they can do, and others for what they can gain.’ Jadgeo represents the latter part of this statement. I have asked before in previous letters in this daily for the ordinary Mr. and Mrs. Guyanese to point to just one thing, just one, that a Jadgeo administration, directly under him or his surrogate Ramotar has done to move or improve their lives from daily struggle to breathing a little bit easier?
What he has done is to provide opportunity for his rich friends to become even more prosperous and open the door wide for the Chinese and Russians to exploit and disrespect our workers and resources with no checks and balances in place. Just yesterday, a dear one shared with me a blistering commentary by GHK Lall published in another paper, my only disappointment, it was not in the KNews as well, but in that commentary, Mr. Lall pellucidly outlined all of the reasons why he will vote for Mr. Granger and APNU. In that article titled, “How I plan to vote and Why”, he clearly outlined all of the concerns and fears every patriotic Guyanese should have at the prospect of a Jadgeo controlled administration with his divide and conquer approach to politics. In Mr. Lall’s opinion, Mr. Granger, though not of the fire and fury of Jadgeo, will deliver the promise of a better Guyana (my words).
“He is not possessed of the Dark Ambitions, Viciousness, Vindictiveness present elsewhere.” And we know where that elsewhere points towards, Bharrat Jadgeo. This person believes he has a God appointment right to control Guyana as he has the PPP, for him, power and control is all important and all consuming. We know what he has done with it in the past. Can Guyana afford to take that gamble again with our future and that of our children?
Respectfully,
Claudeston G. Massiah
