Talbert Mc Pherson, 19, a labourer of Lot 577 No 30 Village, West Coast Berbice, is spending the New Year in jail after he was remanded to prison on a charge of attempted murder.
He is accused of attempting to kill Odel Adams, 25, following an altercation which occurred on December 24, at No28 Village, West Coast Berbice.
Following the incident Mc Pherson was arrested and charged.
He appeared in the Fort Wellington Magistrate Court before Magistrate Peter Hugh and was not required to plead to the charge of attempted murder. Bail was refused and he was remanded to jail until January 22, next.
According to information the two men were involved in an altercation which led to a fight. It was during the fight that the accused reportedly inflicted the wounds on the victim.
The police were informed and the accused was arrested and charged.
