There were many untoward incidents during the Christmas holidays. There were seven deaths. That is going to ease as the New Year approaches, because even the criminals don’t want to take risks with their lives.
However the motorists have no such compunction. In their haste to capitalize on the available fares they will take chances, one of which would lead to a collision. There will be damage but no fatality. That will come later.

There are usually fires at this time. This year would be no different. A kitchen fire would cause some panic. Fortunately quick action by neighbours would avert disaster.
But there would be some damage.

Old Year’s night is a time when people try to welcome in the New Year in different ways. One household would be at a function when some enterprising crooks would invade their home.
The crooks would escape, but not for long, because they would be seen and tracked.
