A 21-year-old mother of two is now hospitalised at the New Amsterdam Hospital after her children’s father dealt her several stabs to various parts on her body.
The injured woman has been identified as Stacy Johnson of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam. Her condition is listed as stable
The incident occurred on November 20, 2019. Police have since launched a hunt for the suspect who is still on the run.
Kaieteur News understands that on the day in question, the victim went to visit the suspect who is the father of her two children.
According to reports, the victim and the suspect were in a relationship for the past five years. However, the suspect had since refused to cater and provide for his family.
This caused the victim to put an end to their relationship. Upon arriving at the home of the suspect, the man and Stacy were engaged in a heated argument and then there was complete silence, according to neighbours.
About 30 minutes after the argument, concerned neighbours started to call out for the woman but received no answer. The neighbours then ventured into the house to check on the woman and it was there that they found her lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen area of the home.
Stacy was subsequently taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where she remains a patient.
According to a police source, the murder weapon, which appears to be a knife was found lying next to the woman.
The matter is being investigated.
