I reside at Goed Intent on the west bank of Demerara. Over three weeks ago I called GPL’s Emergency number to report the wire sparking on the pole in front my house. The operator gave me a reference number. She also took my cell phone and landline numbers saying the technician would call to inform me when they are coming. After waiting for over a week I got no call. I decided to call again. This was now the 13th of October, again I was given another reference number # 458670 (the first number I cannot find it) repeated calls to GPL Emergency number only results in the operator saying she would remind the emergency crew. The problem is, whenever the rain falls the wire on the pole would spark continuously and that’s the only time the light comes on. Here is the direction GPL: when you enter the village there is a monument dedicated to the late Godfrey Phillips aka Mighty Rebel next to the Calvary Moravian Church; the street after the church, going east, the second pole has a lamp mounted on it.
