Kennan Orson Michael Paul, 24, was identified as the victim in a fatal stabbing Wednesday on Lake Street in Ithaca, New York, and police continue to look for the suspect, identified as Denzil Dexter Cummings, 28.
Yesterday, Tompkins County Sheriffs confirmed Paul, said to be from Guyana, was the victim.
Later in the day, Ithaca police released a photo of the suspect, also said to be from Guyana, and more info.
“It has been determined that these individuals are relatives, and this incident stemmed from a personal dispute. These men were in the City of Ithaca working as labourers for a construction company that was contracted by the Gun Hill Apartments,” said Lt. John Joly said in a news release.
“This was not a random act of violence. This investigation is fluid, and we are actively following up on all leads. When additional information becomes available, we will provide an update,” a report in the www.ithacajournal.com said.
The victim has been confirmed to be permanent resident of Newark, New Jersey, while investigators believe Cummings was as well.
The stabbing occurred around 10:38 a.m., Cornell University police said.
