FAST Food franchise Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has made another major step in motor-racing
, this time sponsoring the second round of the National Drag Racing Championship.
Already showing its interest in the circuit racing and karting aspect by investing heavily in 2018, the company has joined the quarter-mile shootout.
In an invited comment, Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club President Rameez Mohamed said, “We are glad to welcome a stellar sponsor such as KFC to drag racing.”
“They have been on board with us since last year, sponsoring our Ignite race meet and then they also sponsored the GT motorsports KFC cup so their investment in motorsport is no small feat.”
He noted that already, the committee is moving apace with preparation for the event.
“Track wise, we’ve instituted some more barriers to ensure even more spectator safety come race day. We have also been working over the last few events to stop the crowding at the start-line and we have put some stuff in place for that.”
“All in all, I think June 23rd will be a fantastic race meet and will be the perfect build up to our international meet set for later this year.”
Other sponsors include Platinum Car Show, Supreme Bets, R. Kissoon Contracting Services, Deryck Jaisingh Trucking Service and Machinery Rentals, Del Ice Co., Mohamed’s Enterprise, B.M.
