Holidays always cause people to drop inhibitions to the extent that some become reckless. One reckless driver will overdo things with his car and kill a man.
Not satisfied, he would drive away having come to the realization that his recklessness has landed him trouble. Unfortunately people would record his number plate.

Some less than enterprising people would try to take advantage of some people who are accommodating visitors at this time. They would attempt a robbery while the people are out enjoying themselves.
They would be apprehended because security videos would capture them. One would be a person who had recently been released from prison.

A news story about a massive expenditure on tickets for a show would spark another round of politics. The truth is that while tickets would be distributed to a few these tickets were obtained at no cost to the state.
