(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh that this government got more projects than a carpenter got excuses, and more ground breaking ceremonies than finished buildings. Every week, it seem as if somebody pulling out a shovel, cutting a ribbon, or announcing another billion-dollar project. But dem boys wondering whether anybody checking how much of the old projects get finish before dem start the new ones.
Take infrastructure, fuh example. De Mahaica to Georgetown Railway Embankment Road project still got large sections incomplete. De Palmyra to Moleson Creek Road project moving at snail pace. If de snail was carrying a passenger, he woulda reach Berbice before de road reach de next milestone!
De Soesdyke to Linden Road project moving apace, and dem boys hope it continue so. But de East Bank Public Road project still creating gridlock, with motorists spending so much time in traffic that dem coulda start a family, raise children and send dem to school before reaching dem destination.
Then come de billion-dollar Princess Street Road project, which dragging on like a man pulling a donkey uphill. Every time yuh think it nearly done, something else appear to be done.
Now, with de King’s visit later dis month, is a mad rush to complete de renovated avenues along Thomas Street, East Street and Waterloo Street. Suddenly, everybody moving like a man who just remember he got visitors coming and de house ain’t clean.
Dem boys hope de King gan get a smooth ride. But dem wondering whether after he leave, dem workers going back to moving at de speed of a tortoise with a heavy suitcase!
Dem boys ain’t against development. But government need to make a shortlist of priority projects and finish dem before spreading itself thinner than butter on a poor man’s bread. Otherwise, we might end up with a country full of beginnings and short of endings.
Dem boys seh is better to finish ten projects properly than start fifty and leave motorists wondering whether dem roads coming with a completion date or a retirement plan!
Talk half. Leff half.

(Kaieteur News) – Guyana is one hell of a country. This country under the PPP Govt. must qualify to be in an extremely ugly category of its own.
