With the aim of building a network amongst the churches and forging unity among the people, Guyana’s first Independent Minister’s Fellowship has been launched.
After being engaged in an informal way for several years, undertaking dozens of initiatives together in various locations country wide, a group of Independent Ministers believed that it was through wise counsel of Almighty God that they were inspired to form a network for Ministers who are broadly located and without a local network fellowship.
As such, the historic launch of Zadok Ministers Fellowship took place on Monday 10th December, 2018, when 70 Ministers representing more than 100 local churches and ministries assembled at the Grand Coastal Inn on the East Coast Demerara. The Gala event took the form of a dinner and reception.
The new organization is expected to forge unity amongst people under the theme “WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER”
The fellowship to be never divisive, exclusive, sectarian, but will be embracing ministers and churches in all 10 regions of Guyana- Urban, Rural and Hinterland.
The word Zadok in its simplest form can be defined as “Kings of righteousness”. Therefore, as a fellowship, the ultimate aspiration is to ensure a high quality of ministry, and to be a collective voice that speaks to the nation. This forum will be a place where accountability, order and impartation are manifested.
The principles of the new fellowship were presented by Apostle Terry Thomas of Ambassadors of Christ Ministries- Buxton. He noted that the fellowship seeks to maintain the unity by refusing to be a part of anything that opposes it; views each member as equal thus sharing mutual respect and having accountability; encourages the celebration, appreciation and care of its members; supports the discovering, discerning, promoting, nurturing, mentoring of gifts and releasing of gifts. Zadok welcomes any Ordained Minister or individual doing the work of a Minister of Christ (saved and baptized).
Archbishop Wingrove D. Babb of Special Miracle Ministries Royalty Centre, had the distinguished privilege of introducing speakeer of the night, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Juan A. Edghill of Outreach Ministries International- Winner’s Cathedral. The Bishop spoke on the need and meaning of fellowship, which entailed having a sense of identity, belonging and reciprocal caring and sharing; establishing order; making representation- through endorsement, releasing and mentoring; sensing the mind of Christ to navigate the way as a Church.
The evening was concluded with the appreciation of different Ministers, specific prayers and jovial interactions. Overall the launch was filled with an awesome and relaxing environment facilitated by the convener Apostle Alex Selorm of the Revealed Word Christian Center- Kitty.
Endorsements of the Fellowship were made by three Ministers; Apostle Safee Rahaman of Grace Pentecostal Ministries –Parika, Minister Gileon James of Christ Crusaders Deliverance Ministries – Providence and Apostle Vandwick Beresford of Maranatha Ministries International- Georgetown.
Zadok Ministers Fellowship is not exclusive and thus extends an invitation to other Independent or non-Independent churches to come on board. The Ministers of Zadok Fellowship acknowledged that their experiences, struggles, victories and strengths provides an opportunity for sharing and development. All are welcomed to be a part of this new initiative despite age, race, gender and history.
The fellowship meets every third Saturday at 10 am.The first meeting for 2019 will be hosted at the Revealed Word Christian Center- 56 William Street Kitty on Saturday 19th January.
