Police ranks yesterday arrested 36 persons in several cordon and search operations conducted in North Cummingsburg and
Kingston.
The 36 persons were detained in relation to several offences. Among tghe detainees were ten foreign nationals (eight women and two men), initially suspected to be undocumented but since confirmed to be documented by ranks of Criminal Investigation Department Head Quarters.
The foreign nationals have since been handed over the Trafficking in Person (TIP) department. Up to press time, this publication was unable to clarify whether they have been released.
Also among the persons arrested was a Rosemary Lane resident who was found to be in possession of 88 grams of cannabis packaged in small-sized ziploc bags.
Additionally, two motorcycles and a flat screen television suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained have been confiscated.
The search and cordon operations were spearheaded by two senior Superintendents supported by 108
ranks. They lasted for over three hours.
