I’m really concerned about the situation at Bosai Bauxite Company. The first issue is the low payments and the amount of years you have to work without getting a salary adjustment, especially in certain departments.
Another thing is that the bosses treat workers according to what their friends tell them about those individuals in the company. They also have people working other places in the company that they were not assigned to work, and underpay them, and that’s also bad for safety.
I think the government needs to look into these issues, because we as young people are the future and I would never encourage a young person to come and work here at Bosai.
Why are there people in places to look into these issues and yet nothing is being done?
I’m concerned, because most of us here have a family and this will affect Linden and Guyana in the long term. We vote to put the government in there so they should take our concerns at heart and let something be done.
Yours truly,
Bosai worker
