The historic Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers School Football League that is seeing 12 school teams drawn from Linden, Georgetown, East
Coast and West Demerara going head to head in this format for the first time continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground with two matches.
In the feature match, Charlestown Secondary had easy work against an indiscipline St. Rose’s High school team, dishing out on them a hefty 8-0 pummeling. Carlos Agard (13th, 44th and 48th minutes) and Raymond Bandhu (7th, 9th and 24th minutes) both netted hat-tricks for the victors, while Isaiah Moore and Tariq Pryce scored one goal each in the big win for the Georgetown team.
Meanwhile, in the opening games, Marian Academy, who is based opposite the Carifesta Avenue venue, had the support from their boisterous female classmates which allowed them to hold off the potent attacking threat of Annandale until the second half.
However, Jamar Harrington broke the deadlock for the East Coast boys seven minutes into the second half of the 60-minute game with a simple tap in into an open goal before Sean Haywood scored in similar fashion two-minutes later to submit their opponents to a 2-0 defeat.
