Trophy Stall continues its strong support for LGC as Guyana Open Golf starts today

Exciting action is anticipated at the Lusignan Golf Course on the East Coast of Demerara when the venue hosts the Guyana Open Golf tournament this weekend.
Some 100 golfers from various countries will battle with their Guyanese Counterparts in what is touted as the biggest tournament to be held in Guyana so far.
Players will vie for supremacy in the 0-9 flight of which Guyanese Avinash Persaud is the defending champion, 10-18, 19-28, senior and females. Among the countries participating are Argentina, Colombia, French Guiana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, USA, Canada and St. Lucia.
Among the Guyanese set to battle are Avinash Persaud, Dr. Joaan Deo, Shanella Webster, Christine Sukhram, Max Persaud, Pur Persaud, Mohanlall Dinnanauth, Mike Mangal, Jai Paul, Kevin Dinnanauth and Manauf Arjune. Jai Suknanan and Roger Rajkumar are expected from Canada.
Meanwhile, the well known Trophy Stall of Bourda Market continued its strong for the game and sport in general by sponsoring several trophies that will be presented at tomorrow’s prize giving ceremony at the conclusion of the event.
Devi Sunich, wife of Proprietor Ramesh Sunich presented the trophies to a Representative of the LGC for the Guyana Open. The Trophy Stall has continued to sponsor and support the new executive of the LGC and pledged that they will stand with president of the club as he seeks to improve the game for women and children.
It was noted that this was their way of giving back to sports in Guyana and golf has become a visible player and they expect it to grow tremendously in the years to come. The business place noted that, ‘This year’s tournament will be the largest in the history of the country and we absolutely had to participate.’
