Police Commissioner Mr. Leslie James DSS, DSM .,accompanied by his four Deputy Commissioners on Wednesday visited G Division Headquarters, at Anna Regina Police Station ,on a notified inspection.
The visit to the “Cinderalla Country “ by such high ranking officers was seen as a very historic one,” a release stated.
It was reported that the last time a Police Commissioner visited on inspection was in 2013.
The release stated that officials were warmly met by Divisional Commander, Superintendent Khalil Pareshram at Supenaam and convoyed to Anna Regina.
The Top Cop also inspected a smartly turned-out parade comprised of several units including Scouts, Neighbourhood Police and Police Recruits from the Richard Faikal Police College.
Very much impressed with the turnout and bearings, Commissioner James promoted five ranks on-the-spot and recognized three very junior ranks on their deportment.
Those promoted are Corporal 21937 Jason McAlmont of the Richard Faikal Police College, to Sergeant; Detective Corporal 17221 Benet Felix of Anna Regina Station, to Sergeant; Constable 23100 Shemar Doris of Anna Regina Police Station Traffic Department, to Lance Corporal;
Woman Special Constable 13649I Indranie Phillips of the Commander ighbo s Registry, to Lance Corporal and Constable 23167 Andwell McDonald of Charity Police Station Traffic Department, to Lance Corporal.
During his address to a sizeable turnout including representatives of civil society, the Commissioner highlighted among others, the reformation plan for the Police Force as outlined during his previous visits to Divisions A-E.
Issues and concerns raised by those in attendance were assured of being addressed without delay.
