As part of its developmental agenda, the Linden Table Tennis Committee in collaboration with the Guyana Table Tennis Association and Ministry of Education Unit of Allied Arts will be hosting its 4TH Annual School Holiday Table Tennis Training Camp, scheduled for the 30th July to 10th August 2018 at the Mackenzie High School Auditorium.
The annual featured programme targets advance, intermediate and beginner level players between the ages of six (6) to eighteen (18) years old aimed at the following: Increasing participation and orientating new player’s, student athletes to the sport with a view of Improving and advancing the technical level of the players in Linden, developing their talents to challenge Guyana’s best and gain possible representation.
With over 30 registered participants the programme focus will be intense, focusing on rules, fundamental strokes, tactical and technical elements.
The plan is to further engage the best talents after this programme, engaging them in continuous training and to have exchange programmes between them and with East Bank, Bartica and other committees aimed at providing exposure so as to improve their technical and tactical abilities.
The camp will culminate with an evaluation assessment championship to reward the best talents.
The programme will be conducted under the guidance and tutelage of ITTF level one coach and Course Conductor Mr. Shavin Greene, Mr. Maurice Cummings and Mr. Paul Jones.
Sessions starts from 10:00am to 1:00pm daily and interested parents wishing to have their child/children participate can contact Mr. Shavin Greene or Maurice Cummings on telephone 682-8835/ 602-2082.
