A man who decided to woo a 13-year-old girl who was visiting his sister and kissed her on her neck causing hickeys has been jailed for four years.
The man, Takurdyal Bisssondyal, 19, a fisherman of Cumberland, Village East Canje Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Renita Singh in the Reliance Magistrate Court in East Canje on a charge of sexual assault.
He was accused of on March 20, last; it is alleged that the accused sexually assaulted the teen at Cumberland knowing fully well that she is under the age of 16.
According to information, the girl lives next to Bissondyal sister and would usually visit. On the day in question, the man visited his sister and around the same time the teen went over on one of her regular visits.
It was during that time that the man took the opportunity to kiss the girl on her neck causing some love bites.
She was subsequently questioned about the love bites on her neck and revealed what happened.
Bissondyal was arrested and charged and subsequently found guilty.
