Guyanese businessman, Eddie Doolal, on Friday, launched Guyana’s newest security firm, Delta Security Services. The company uses a wide range of technology to enhance tactical response, medical emergencies services and tracking capabilities.
“Our company looks at security from a holistic point of view and not from a tunnel vision point of view,” Doolal told the gathering at Rayne Inn, Rahaman’s Park, East Bank Demerara. The company will also offer bed-to-bed service by assisting with the transport of elderly and sick persons.
According to Doolal, the company plans to establish several bases across the country. It will specialise in emergency response with an ambulance service. As part of the emergency service, the company will offer panic buttons for individual use in times of emergency. The button will trigger assistance.
“Our intention is to augment the resources of the state, not to replace it, but to offer specialised service to our customers. Customers can be assured that the phrase, peace of mind, really means peace of mind,” Doolal stated.
He said the company has invested in equipment and software that allow for camera mapping and live surveillance of property. Doolal explained that the mapping capabilities are unique to Guyana since a live feed camera pops up immediately once a secured zone has been breached.
“We are the first company that is able to do this. It is a very expensive software, but in the interest in providing inclusive security for our Guyanese people, we have decided to go this way. It is very cost-effective in terms of the monitoring,” Doolal shared.
To combat carjacking, the company is providing GPS trackers, kill switch technology, speeding control monitoring and fleet management. Additionally, the company has invested in a 24-hour money tracking service by placing a device in the bag of money.
This type of tracking capably is also available for airport transportation and luggage.
Amna Ally, Minister of Social Protection, commended the company on the variety of service products, pointing that crime is part of the unsettled behaviour in Guyana.
“There is need as citizens for each of us to strive to eliminate this scourge; to eliminate crime in our country so we can live freely. We can live comfortably, and we can be safe. Protection of ourselves, our homes and properties are considered to being vital for our survival. I am particularly happy when we have services of this nature being provided,” Ally stated.
The Minister expressed her satisfaction with the panic button service for elderly persons.
She also encouraged the company to work with other security companies, the police, the army and all those who are responsible for safety and security which will create a better environment for all to live in.
