Dear Editor,
Please allow me some space to express my dissatisfaction in the present government and to do so directly to His Excellency. Dear Mr. Granger, you have not only dropped the ball, you have dropped the ball and tossed it away.
In every corner of this country you can talk to someone and they will express the same sentiments that you have not done what you have promised Guyanese before you took office.
You were so passionate about the misappropriation of our country’s financial resources by the past administration, and had strong statements about your administration addressing these issues; to be fair, I must say you did not say how you would address these issues, so your administration doing the same kind of things or even worse in some cases; this should have been expected since you did not outline any strategic plan for Guyana before your administration took office.
If you would, please answer a few questions. What happened to the retirement benefit for past President? One of your arguments was that it was too much, so I am to think that you have changed your mind, is it that you now think that the benefit is just right?
What happened to prosecuting past and present government ministers/workers for their wrong doings? Is it that because you are now in the hot seat, everything that would shield you or your ministers must remain unchanged?
How is it that you are mum on every critical issue that is affecting Guyanese? How can you have persons functioning in areas that are a direct conflict of interest? Is it the mindset, let us set ourselves as best as we could so that when we get out of office, we are set for life?
Mr. Granger, every action or inaction of your administration/government rest on your shoulders. A hundred years from now, when my grandchildren and great grandchildren look back on history, it’s “gonna” be stated as the Granger administration/government did X, Y and Z.
Mr. Granger, I implore you to pick up the ball, stand up for what you claim you believe in, care for us; the citizens of this great nation. We are longing for our government to care for us, to look out for us, to improve our lives. If you, the government and the ministers love this nation so much, then you all would put the nation first in everything.
Everyone has an opportunity every day to choose to do the right thing. Forget about what you did yesterday, but get it right today. We know, no one is perfect but with God in front and you reaching for righteousness, you can continually strive to attain perfection.
Still praying that you will wake up and see that you have not done anything of real benefit to this nation, and realize that there is still time to get it right TODAY!
Fed-Up Citizen
