Coast guards yesterday brought in the body of a man at its base in Ruimveldt, Georgetown where it was then inspected by police ranks before it was taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour.
The body, which is of mixed race, was discovered floating in the Atlantic Ocean, in the vicinity of the Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown.
Staffers from the Light House informed the coast guards of the body. It was clad only in a pair of brown long pants.
It had been exposed to the sun leaving the skin on the back peeled. The body was not badly decomposed.
