At the macro level, the Government will be spending some time analysing and reflecting on the performance of the economy for the first half of the year.
As such, Finance Minister Winston Jordan recently revealed that the half-year report is in the pipeline.
Based on the outcome of the examination of the economy, and given the outlook for the second half of the year, the economist said that a determination would be made as to the expectations for the entire year and how those compare with the budget.
The Finance Minister indicated that growth performance of the various sectors of the economy, inflation, financial stability, the level of economic activity, job creation, earnings from exports, the amount that is expend on imports and the rate of implementation of public sector investment, are among variables that will be microscopically examined.
The half year report is expected to be laid in the National Assembly before the end of August.
