The former Executive Director of Food for the Poor – Guyana passed away yesterday. Davis died at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. Information received indicates that Davis was ailing for well over a year. He was 75 years old.

Davis was the first Executive Director of the charitable organisation since it was established in Guyana in June 1991. He retired in 2012.
Davis would have served 21 years at the helm of the organisation. Last June he was honoured by Food for the Poor when the organisation celebrated its 25th Anniversary. Davis played an integral role in the housing projects executed by the organisation.
Food for the Poor is the largest charitable organisation in Guyana and distributes items such as food, medicine, health care and educational supplies from its Georgetown office.
During his tenure at the organisation he would have executed and supported a number of programs for the benefit of the poor in Guyana along with public and private entities who were in need of assistance.
