A new date has been set for a ruling in Maurice Arjoon versus New Building Society, (NBS) court case.
Kaieteur News understands that notices were sent out on Monday, that the matter is now set for decision on July 10, 2017, at 11:30 hours before Justice Brassington Reynolds.
The civil suit dates back to 2011, when Arjoon, a former Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of NBS filed a lawsuit in the High Court against the financial institution over wrongful termination from the agency.
Arjoon was on the verge of retiring when fraud charges were instituted against him and he was dismissed from NBS, losing his pension and other benefits.
After some six years in the High Court, the matter ended last October.
The presiding Judge had initially set November 29, 2016, as the date to hand down a decision in the matter.
A report by the Office of the Ombudsman, concluded in November 2014, stated that the police wrongfully charged the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and two of his managers for the $69M fraud at the New Building Society, in 2006.
