Dear Editor,
Why is the PPP/C not regenerating itself before the next General Elections due by 2020? Clearly, Bharrat Jagdeo (and, Donald Ramotar) is not the solution to Guyana’s problems as they have had their chance to unite Guyana but choose to play politics (race-based politics at that).
The PPP/C needs new blood with new innovative ideas and strategies to win the next General Elections. We should not be settling for Bharrat Jagdeo because he can “win” an election. It is not just about winning elections; it is about how you govern as well.
It is believed by many people that should Bharrat Jagdeo contest and “win” the next General Elections that he will be out to enrich himself and his friends with the oil money.
Clearly, the PPP/C needs to win over its detractors and we cannot do this with Bharrat Jagdeo (or Donald Ramotar) at the helm. Does the PPP/C actually have a plan of succession or are we going to let Bharrat Jagdeo take us down a road we do not wish to go? Who in the PPP/C can stand up to Bharrat Jagdeo and wrest power from him?
Sean Ori
