Cecil Morris of the Guyana Society for the Blind accepts
the donation from a Inner Wheel Club representative.
The Inner Wheel Club of Georgetown Central has been serving the society and the less privileged for a number of years. This year it has decided to lend assistance to the Blind Community.
Moreover the organization has donated 50 white canes valued at $406,261 to the Guyana Society for the Blind.
The donation of white canes was a significant need for the blind community, since the organization presently has no white canes to give its members. The white cane is the main mobility tool for persons who are blind and visually impaired.
The Inner Wheel Club also donated one desktop computer and desk valued $93,000 to the Ministry of Education’s Unit for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
