Awareness and Education campaign as Guyana observed World Earth Day.
The GMCS, via a release, said that it is crucial that we build a nation where citizens are aware of the concepts of climate change and its unprecedented threats it has on our nation’s well being.
It was noted that on Thursday, the Shell Beach Protected Area was closed to tourism due to the rapid erosion.
“Environmental literacy is the main engine for a green citizenry and for advancing green jobs. GMCS will build on its partnership with the Private Sector who is the engine of growth in Guyana.
GMCS wishes to thank Simpson Oil Limited for its continued support to the sea turtle conservation programme since 2000 to present and for refurbishing the GMCS sea turtle monument.’
Further, the Society will be partnering with likeminded corporations, Ministries and Agencies to empower the nation with the knowledge to inspire action to safeguard Guyana’s marine environment.
