A fine century by Ganesh Mangal handed Affiance Storm a 35-run victory over Gold Dust when
the Digicel/Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) 10/10 tournament commenced on Sunday last at Perseverance beach on the Essequibo Coast.
Mangal struck 139 as Affiance Storm rattled up 191-2, batting first. Gold Dust replied with 156-6. L. Goddett hit 101; N. Manman had 3-23.
Top Shatters lost to El Dorado by five wickets. Batting first Top Shatters made 125-6 with N. Khan scoring 77; S. Raj claimed 2-19. El Dorado responded with 129-5 in nine overs, S. Jagmohan hit 40 and B. Dasrath 39.
Invaders Masters beat United Warriors by 24 runs. Invaders Masters posted 133-5, batting first. D. Madhoo made 39. M. Persaud took 2-26. United Warriors made 109-7 in response. S. Boucher got 42; Ramesh Narine captured 4-16.
United Warriors overcame Jaguars by 154 runs. United Warriors scored 214-2, taking first strike. B. Mangar struck 128 while Yodhanlall Sooklall hit 65. Jaguars were shot out for 60 in 6.5 overs in reply. Sooklall had 3-20.
Richmond Warriors beat Lima Sands by 43 runs. Richmond Warriors took first strike and scored 137-5. S. Ariham and S. Ali made 46 and 45 respectively. Lima Sands made 94-7 in reply. F. Ferreira made 26; R. Doodnauth had 2-26.
Die Hard defeated Mashabo by 130 runs. Die Hard posted 246-1 with Richard Latif slamming 116,
Vijay Surujpaul contributed 69 and Patrick Rooplall 55. Mashabo responded with 116-2. D. Williams got 37 and O. Abrams 27.
GT Warriors got the better of Reliance Young Stars by 64 runs. GT Warriors managed 161-4. D. De Silva got 52 and E. Spencer 47. Reliance Young Stars made 97-8 in reply. Marvin Pearson got 42; Spencer had 2-9.
Devonshire Castle beat Queenstown by six wickets. Queenstown took first strike and made 109-6. A. Wallace made 29; S. Persaud had 2-19. In response, Devonshire Castle scored 113-4 in 8.2 overs. S. Singh hit 63.
Golden Fleece overcame Rising Sun by 18 runs. Golden Fleece scored 144-5 taking first run at the crease with D. Singh and S. Harilall scoring made 46 and 34 respectively. Rising Sun scored 126 all out in 9.2 overs in reply. Troy Giddings made 38; G. Singh had 3-25.
In other fixtures, Sun Risers Over-40 made 90-5, batting first while AK Dealers responded with 91-1 in 5.4 overs. RG XI managed 98 all out while Golden Fleece replied with 102-2 in 8.3 overs. A. Manohar made 30.
