Meten-Meer-Zorg man remanded over AK-47, M-70 find
A Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara man was remanded yesterday over the discovery of two assault rifles at his home last Thursday.
Christopher Small was refused bail when he appeared before Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool in the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. He is to return to court on April 10.
Police allegedly seized an A-47 assault rifle, an Ak-47 Assault rifle and two magazines in a duffel bag from Small’s home last Thursday, after a female occupant reported that she found the firearm while cleaning the First Street, Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara.
Small, and others, were taken into custody in December, 2002, after army ranks intercepted Roger Khan, Haroon Yahya, and policeman Sean Belfield, in a pickup at Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, with a massive arms cache.
They were not charged.
