Joel Meshach Mentore, 29, was found stabbed to death in his home at Henderson Street, Chaguanas on Saturday, the Trinidad Express reported yesterday.
Police suspect that Mentor was killed during a dispute with his male lover.
A police report said that around 11.15 a.m., Mentore’s roommate found him in the living room of their apartment, unresponsive and bleeding from multiple stab wounds to his neck and chest.
Inspector Douglas and officers of the Chaguanas CID as well as Sgt. Ramjag and others of the Homicide Division Region III responded.
The room-mate said he last saw Mentore alive around 4 a.m. when he was going to the bathroom.
Mentor, a restaurant host, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed for an autopsy on Monday at the Forensic Sciences Centre, St James.
