Why did GPL have to repair the submarine cable?
Dear Editor,
Your Christmas day article on the GPL tender leaves many loose ends hanging. Can you please give us more information on the CEMCO report on the initial CMC GPL Contract? Why are we awarding contracts to Chinese companies, despite their prices being higher than local companies and their quality of their work inferior? Why did GPL have to pay for the repair of the submarine cable, if its installation was faulty in the first place? What other inferior work did the CEMCO report highlight? Does someone have a godfather in the Government? Will we get value from this set of IDB and EU funds?
