Dear Editor,
It is becoming clearer that Tacuma Ogunseye seems to carry much guilt and is unprepared to level with the people on how many gold coins he collected around the period when the late Walter Rodney was murdered. Did he undermine Walter? Did he sell out Walter? But today he seems to be doing the same with Mr. Granger and the government by doing very little but getting paid plenty, over G$8 million a year in a FAT CAT remuneration package for little results to show. He is one of Guyana’s biggest square pegs in a round hole. Not only has he privately criticized the Chairman of SARU Dr. Clive Thomas for being too old for the job, but he also criticized the Granger administration for not making him the CEO of SARU. His devious disposition tells the whole story of a double agent who cannot be trusted.
The latest information on this two-faced hypocrite was that he approached some former members in the leadership of the past government and secretly asked for millions for ACDA. The PPP was wise to ignore him since he is not even worth two apples, much less what he asked for. Plus there is the trust factor and how he sold out the PCD movement in the 1990s. The point here is that if Tacuma could do such a thing, working both sides on the big hustle, the Granger administration should keep him on the fringes. So while a good man like Aubrey Retymeyer may be pursuing leads, his work is being undermined by people right in SARU. Both Mr. Retmeyer and Dr. Thomas should be warned that since this mean spirited man did not get the position he sought at SARU, he will make sure that they would not succeed. Conspiracies are already in the making, just watch Tacuma.
The public should know that Tacuma Ogunseye is a desperate man who is willing to sell out the government for gold coins. In the 2011 campaign, he criticized Raphael Trotman by calling him a stooge and called Moses Nagamootoo and Khemraj Ramjattan opportunists. He claimed that their intention was for the AFC to take votes away from APNU so that the PPP could win the election. This is how much this infantile politician knows about the political landscape in Guyana. Did the people listen to Ogunseye then? No, because 33,335 persons rejected his preposterous claims and solidly supported the AFC in 2011 that led to a minority PPP regime. To shed some more light on Tacuma; in 2011, this mediocre politician went to the Buxton Line top and preached messages of racial hate against East Indians and provided justification for violence against East Indian families? The evidence will illustrate that Tacuma is a hater.
But we are a good people and collectively we as a nation have to move on from those dark days, and reject racist people like Tacuma. We have a bigger task at hand – healing the nation and deliver on the ambitions of the founding fathers. But that healing process will never occur once bigoted and racist minds continue to influence the Government of Guyana. There is a saying “karma drives outcomes”. The devilish action from those line top days will dictate that “who God curse, and who no man save from the wrath of the people.” Tacuma’s only interest was gold coins and he will do anything, legal or illegal or be involved in covert operations to get as much gold coins for himself as possible. Let Tacuma and his political acolytes know, I do not fall for gold coins, I serve the poor and the working class and if I have to stand for the poor of Buxton, I will and I will do likewise for the poor of Albion or the poor of Paramokatoi because my vision only allows me to see one people – the Guyanese people, unlike Tacuma.
So to the poor and the working class, do not lose hope because of the intellectually bankrupt actions of people in power like Tacuma. The children of the Rasta man are coming home and will join the good struggle. That is a promise and we will use our energies to finally transform Guyana economically from a backward banana republic where Tacuma and his geriatric friends continue to manipulate the Treasury. We must unleash the dreams of the founding fathers where Guyana will finally become the Singapore of the Western Hemisphere. The founding father Burnham said, he wants “the small man to be the real man and we must buy-local to reinvigorate the local economy” and so it was said and so it shall be done. The founding father Jagan said as leaders we must run the affairs of the state in a “lean, mean, clean and transparent manner” and not live a “Cadillac lifestyle on taxpayer funds in a donkey kart economy” and so it was said and so it shall be done. I say, we must transform the donkey cart economy into the Singapore of the Western Hemisphere. So it has been said and so it shall be done; no excuses, period!
