Gaico Construction Inc. recently sponsored a two-day Oil Spill Response training

The training was conducted by Oil Spill Response Ltd from the UK/USA- one of the largest Oil Spill Responder in the world.
According to a release yesterday, the company provides support to most of the large oil companies- (Exxon, Chevron, Shell, BP) around the world for emergency Tier 3 Response.
Gaico is now creating a partnership with this company for Tiers 1 and 2 support in the event of any spill.
For two days this week, attendees from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Civil Defense Commission (CDC), Coast Guard, Maritime Administration Department (MARAD), Ministry of Natural Resources, Mangrove Conservation, WWF, Ministry of Social Protection, Rubis along with the Gaico Staff were exposed to a one-day class room training and a one-day live spill drill at the company’s wharf facility at Nismes on the West Bank of Demerara.
Gaico Construction said it is now fully equipped to respond to any oil spill.
The company has a complete stock of Oil Spill Booms, Skimmers, Marine and other equipment that can immediately deal with any oil spill.
“Stakeholders are encouraged to be a part of Gaico’s Oil Spill Response department so they can respond immediately in the event of any Oil Spill,” the company which is involved in construction and has river dredges, said yesterday.
