A man, who admitted to smoking marijuana, yesterday told Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan that she will never see him again in her courtroom. Compton Adams was yesterday fined $10,000 after he pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics.
It is alleged that on November 20, last, at 111 Mile Mahdia Potaro, he had in his possession three grams of cannabis.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers told the court that Police were on patrol at Mahdia when they stopped and searched Adams, after observing him acting in a suspicious manner.
A quantity of leaves, seeds and stems were found in his pants pocket. He was told of the offence and arrested and charged.
Adams will spend the next eight weeks doing community service at the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court or in default serve six months imprisonment.
