NPG Packaging & Plastic Inc/UCCA T20 Semifinals action on this Sunday

The NPG Packaging and Plastic Incorporated T20 cricket competition for teams in the Upper Corentyne/Black Bush area has reached the semifinals stage with No. 48 Challengers, No. 69 Vikings, No. 70 A and Yakusari Caribs through.
The semifinal matches which will be played this Sunday November 6, at the No. 69 Red Rose ground beginning at 9:30hrs.
Results of quarter final matches play saw – In quarterfinal No. one which was played at No. 48; the host No.48 Challengers defeated Skeldon by 7 runs. No. 48 Challengers batted first and scored 151 for 8 off their allotted overs. Akshay Homraj 41, Balram Samaroo 32, Satrohan Singh 17 and Munesh Lalu 15 were the top scorers. Bowling for Skeldon, Mahendra Chaitnarine picked up 2 wickets, while there were one each for Victor Pedro and Javid Ali.
Skeldon in reply were restricted to 144 for 7 off their allotted overs. Allan Bowling 51, Christopher Jaundoo 26 and Junior Blair 11 were the top scorers.
Bowling for No. 48 Challengers, Totaram Persaud took 4 wickets, while Munesh Lalu 3, while Rayon Anier and Balram Persaud took one each.
In quarter final No.2 which was played at the No.70 ground. Yakusari Caribs defeated No.70 M.Y.O by 18 runs. Batting first Yakusari Caribs posted 205 for 9 off their 20 overs. Terrence Budhu 73, Ramesh Lyana 33, Churmanie Lyana 30 and Naipaul Lyana 23 did the work with the bat. Bowling for No. 70 M.Y.O Jameel Assad took 3 and Rajindra Deonarine 2 wickets.
In reply, No.70 M.Y.O were restricted to 187 for 7 off their overs. Alim Haniff 41, Jameel Assad 27, Alim Khan 27 and Ahmed Khan 20 were the top scorers. Bowling for Yakusari Caribs, Naipaul Iyana lead the way with 4 wickets, Ryan Bownauth, Ramesh Iyana and Churmanie Iyana supported with one each.
In quarter final 3 at No. 70A ground: No. 70 A whipped Corriverton by 8 wickets. Corriverton batted first and were bowled out for 130 in 19.1 overs with Eric Byass making 56, R. Singh 17 and Deo Ramdat 14.
Bowling for No. 70A Thameshwar Ramoutar snared 3 wickets, while Thameshwar Kumar and Omesh Khemraj 2 apiece supported. In reply, No. 70A reached 134 for 2 off 17.1 overs with Ramoutar blasting 51 not out, Omesh Kumar 38 not out, Rayan Yacoob 20 and Naeem Yacoob 13. Bowling for Corriverton Eric Byass and Amzan Appalsammy took one wicket each.
In quarter final 4 played at No. 72; No.69 Vikings defeated No. 72 All Stars by 7 wickets. Batting first No. 72 All Stars scored 136 for 8 with Permashwar Chaterpal 28, Trishan Ramdass 26 and Devendra Jaggernauth 25 top scoring. Bowling for No. 69 Vikings, Deraj Bramdit took 3 wickets, while Viendra Gooniah and Sachin Ramrattan picked up 2 each.
In reply, No. 69 Vikings raced to 138 for 3 off 15 overs. Gooniah 52 not out, Trishan Narinedat 25 and Vivendra Gooniah 14 not out did the work for No. 69. Bowling for No. 72 All Stars Chaterpal and P. Gobin took one wicket each.
Semifinal No one will see No. 48 Challengers taking on No. 69 Vikings at 9:30hrs. Semifinal No two will bring together Yakusari Caribs against No. 70A at 13:30hrs.
